Aboitiz Foods membantu membangun masa depan siswa melalui Brigada Eskwela 2024

30 Agustus 2024

Engr. Michael Cayabyab, Manajer Teknik Operasi Pakan Ternak Aboitiz Foods, berbagi pengalamannya "Saya selalu membawa anak saya ke Brigada Eskwela setiap tahun.

Anggota tim Aboitiz Foods, Engr.

What feedback did school leadership give about the impact of Aboitiz Foods’ contributions?
The Designated School Officer of Primitivo R. Quimpo Memorial School expressed deep gratitude, stating that the donation of five desktop computers greatly enhances the school’s ICT capabilities and empowers both teachers and students in today’s digital age. The acknowledgment emphasized that support from companies like Aboitiz Foods ensures education thrives despite the challenges faced by schools in remote and underserved communities.

What specific challenge was facing Primitivo R. Quimpo Memorial School in Iligan City, and how did Aboitiz Foods respond?
The school, situated in a remote location with limited resources, had over 100 students who lacked equipment for their ICT subjects – an increasingly essential component of modern education. Aboitiz Foods addressed this by donating five desktop computers on July 12, 2024, and mobilizing over 70 volunteers from the company, including security personnel, interns, teachers, and Philippine Army members, to repaint classrooms and clean school grounds.

Which schools in Tarlac and Nueva Ecija benefited from Aboitiz Foods’ Brigada Eskwela participation?
In Tarlac and Nueva Ecija, the activities covered Gumain Primary School and Bueno Integrated School in Bamban and Capas, Tarlac respectively, as well as Buted Elementary School in Talugtug, Nueva Ecija. Volunteer teams painted school facilities, distributed school bags and supplies, and contributed to general renovation work across these schools.

What was the 2024 Brigada Eskwela theme, and how did Aboitiz Foods’ participation reflect it?
The theme was “Bayanihan Para sa Matatag na Paaralan” – roughly, Community Action for Resilient Schools. Aboitiz Foods embodied this theme through multi-location volunteer deployment across Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, and Iligan, with over 120 team members participating alongside their families – demonstrating that community cooperation in education is a value the company practices, not just promotes.

How does Aboitiz Foods’ Brigada Eskwela participation extend beyond a single day of volunteering?
The donations – particularly the desktop computers for Primitivo R. Quimpo Memorial School – create lasting improvements to the schools’ educational capacity that outlast the activity itself. Volunteers who bring family members, such as Engr. Michael Cayabyab who annually brings his son, also model intergenerational civic participation, embedding service and community responsibility as ongoing values rather than one-time gestures.
