With its strong commitment to Advancing Business and Communities, Pilmico Foods Corporation, through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team and Aboitiz Foundation Inc., reached out to families severely affected by the recent oil spill in the Municipality of Pola, Oriental Mindoro. 

The massive oil spill from a sunken vessel in Oriental Mindoro resulted in a fishing ban, disrupting the livelihood of residents in the coastal area where fishing is a primary source of income.

Pilmico and AFI provided food packs to 200 fisherfolk from Barangay Buhay na Tubig and Barangat Bacawan last April 11, 2023. Pilmico’s Feeds sales team members and volunteers distributed the relief packs to the residents of the two barangays.

A resident from the Municipality of Pola extended his gratitude to the organization for their help, “Mula po sa Barangay Buhay na Tubig maraming salamat po sa Aboitiz Foundation sa napakalaki nilang tulong sa amin. Ito po ay napakalaking tulong dahil alam naman po natin ang sitwasyon ng aming barangay dahil sa oil spill na nararanasan namin ngayon ay hindi po kami nakakapangisda.”
