Apr 8, 2024

Last March 15, 2024, Pilmico, the food and agribusiness subsidiary of Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc., hosted baking workshop with 35 women from the Coast Guard Human Resource Management Command (CGHRMC). This workshop was organized as part of the Livelihood Assistance Management Program (LAMP) in partnership with the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) providing livelihood opportunities to recipients.

LAMP, facilitated by Pilmico, offers support for individuals navigating life beyond their service with the PCG. This collaborative effort aims to equip retiring, separating, and active-status personnel and their dependents with sustainable livelihood opportunities. From entrepreneurship workshops to vocational training, LAMP caters to its beneficiaries’ diverse needs and aspirations.

Chef Carla Valencia, Pilmico’s Technical Service Manager for Flour, led the workshop and demonstrated different recipes such as brownies, cookies, and pandesal using Pilmico Flour.

Commander Leila Tatel, Director of the Coastal Guard Regional Business Affairs Section (CGRBAS), PCG, expressed her gratitude to Pilmico for their support. She also emphasized to the participants the importance of expanding their skill sets and actively contributing to society, empowering personal growth and community development.

The LAMP program aims to provide livelihood opportunities and empower people with skills on viable options and sustainable livelihood.

Pilmico previously partnered with the Philippine Army, part of their Philippine Army’s Modified Transition Assistance Program (MTAP) for the retiring Army personnel, Complete Disability Discharge (CDD), and Army dependents by conducting livelihood training in Army camps nationwide.

The training includes starting and growing an Agripost business, such as fundamentals of Egg Machine upkeep, Poultry raising, Hog raising, Basic Aqua farming, as well as Bakery Management training. Initiatives such as LAMP serve as a testament to Aboitiz Group’s promise of advancing businesses and communities.
