MAKATI CITY, Philippines — Aboitiz Foods, through Pilmico Foods Corporation (Pilmico), and the Philippine Army have renewed their partnership under the Livelihood Assistance and Management Program (LAMP), reaffirming their shared commitment to equipping servicemen, their families, and Army personnel with practical skills and opportunities to build sustainable livelihoods.
The partnership, formalized on September 29, 2026, through a renewed Memorandum of Understanding, builds on a collaboration that began in 2018. LAMP was established to complement the Philippine Army’s Transition Assistance Program by helping retiring or separating personnel prepare for life beyond active military service through technical training and livelihood opportunities.
“What has allowed LAMP to continue over the years is the strength of the partnership behind it,” said Aboitiz Foods President and CEO Tristan R. Aboitiz, adding, “From the first LAMP participants in 2018 to those who will take part in the program in the years ahead, our goal remains the same: to help create practical and sustainable livelihood opportunities for our servicemen and women as they prepare for life beyond active service.”
Under the renewed agreement, retiring or separating personnel, active Philippine Army members, and their dependents will have access to technical training in agribusiness, poultry and hog raising, bakery management, feeds retailing, and The Good Meat Reseller Program, among others. Pilmico will provide subject-matter experts and technical trainers, as well as baking materials and technical assistance, to participants pursuing livelihood opportunities using Pilmico flour and feeds.
Meanwhile, the Philippine Army will facilitate participant engagement and provide venues and logistical support for program activities. Both parties will also collaborate to monitor the program and assess its effectiveness to inform future improvements.
The program will be implemented through a series of activities in Philippine Army camps nationwide, providing participants with knowledge and skills they can potentially apply to their own livelihood and entrepreneurship pursuits.
“We recognize that the sustainability of any livelihood endeavor goes beyond the training itself. It requires continuous learning, proper guidance, access to opportunities, and strong partnerships,” said Philippine Army Personnel Management Center Director Colonel John Mark S. Competente ARM (GSC) PA, adding, “Through Pilmico’s technical expertise and the Philippine Army’s institutional support and network, we hope to create an environment where our personnel and their families can translate these learning opportunities into meaningful and sustainable sources of livelihood.”
For Aboitiz Foods, the partnership reflects the belief that meaningful impact can be strengthened when organizations bring their respective expertise and resources together. Since 2018, LAMP has provided livelihood training to more than 1,500 servicemen and women. Through Pilmico, the company shares its expertise in food and agribusiness and collaborates closely with the Philippine Army to keep the program aligned with participants’ needs.

The renewed LAMP will run for five years, providing a framework for the two organizations to continue strengthening and evolving the program in the years ahead.
