Kotamadya Carmen, DAVAO DEL NORTE - Pilmico dan Gold Coin Group (Pilmico), anak perusahaan makanan dan agribisnis dari Aboitiz Group, baru-baru ini menyerahkan peralatan khusus kepada Rumah Potong Hewan Kotamadya Carmen untuk membantu para peternak kelinci di komunitas mereka.
Pada tanggal 18 Januari 2023 yang lalu, perwakilan dari Pilmico, yang dipimpin oleh Asisstant Vice President for Livestock Mindanao Jefferson Abian, menyerahkan peralatan pengolahan daging kelinci. Hadir dalam acara tersebut adalah Presiden Asosiasi Produsen Daging Kelinci Berkualitas Davao del Norte (DAQRAMPA) Jerwin Pugoy, Ketua Komite Keanggotaan DAQRAMPA Marlon Trumata, dan para anggotanya.
"Mari kita bekerja sama untuk mempromosikan konsumsi daging kelinci di Kotamadya Carmen dan segera ke seluruh wilayah," kata Pugoy, yang berharap dapat semakin memperkuat komunitas beternak kelinci dengan Pilmico.
Abian berterima kasih kepada Walikota yang telah memberikan dukungan penuh terhadap proyek ini.
"Terima kasih kami ucapkan kepada Walikota Leonidas Bahague dari Kotamadya Carmen yang telah mendukung kami dalam upaya ini. Dengan bantuan Anda, Anda dapat mengandalkan kami untuk terus menjadi Mitra untuk Pertumbuhan para peternak kelinci kami," katanya.
Donasi ini sejalan dengan inisiatif Departemen Pertanian (DA) untuk mempromosikan peternakan kelinci. Dalam memo yang diedarkan oleh DA pada 6 Februari lalu, mereka menyatakan bahwa daging kelinci memiliki kandungan protein, zat besi, dan mineral yang tinggi serta rendah kolesterol. Selain itu, kelinci juga dapat menjadi sumber pendapatan alternatif bagi para petani.
Pilmico meluncurkan merek pakan kelinci Kunemax pada tahun 2021 lalu di tengah meningkatnya permintaan konsumsi protein.
