On March 28, 2025, Pilmico, an Aboitiz Foods company, held its annual Simulation Exercise (SimEx) at its Iligan site. The large-scale drill aimed to test and enhance the company’s readiness for complex emergency scenarios through multi-agency coordination and real-time response.

This year’s simulation focused on high-risk situations including maritime terrorism, oil spills, fire outbreaks, and personnel injuries. In partnership with eight local government units and emergency response agencies—such as the Iligan CDRRMO, Coast Guard, City Fire Station, and more—the drill recreated realistic crisis situations that challenged teams to respond quickly and effectively.

From deploying containment booms to suppressing fires and providing emergency medical aid, the coordinated actions of all participants underscored the power of teamwork in crisis response. A debriefing session followed the exercise, where teams reflected on key learnings and areas for improvement.

The successful execution of the 2025 SimEx reaffirmed Pilmico’s strong commitment to safety, collaboration, and community resilience.
